About SF Announcements
SF Announcements is a list server that serves the Greek community in the San Francisco area. Anyone wishing to
post something of interest to the Greek community is welcome. The list is moderated by Jim Lucas,
Holy Trinity SF webmaster.
The list is used by bay area churches, the SF Metropolis, the Greek Consulate of San Francisco, Greek organizations, and church affiliated
groups. We also post announcements from the Russian, Serbian, Ukrainian, and Antiochian Orthodox Churches. Occaisionally we post an announcement
regarding the opening of a business or if a business is hiring or if someone is looking for work.
Events posted through SF Announcements are put on the sanfranciscogreeks.com web calendar. sanfranciscogreeks.com is a web portal for the
Greek community being developed by Jim Lucas.
Guidelines for Posting
There are four basic rules.
1) No profanity
2) No nudity or anything overly suggestive
3) Nothing against the church
4) No advertisements for any political candidate (even if they are Greek or of Orthodox faith)
Even though our subscribers are primarily from the bay area, we do reach other geographic locations. A good general rule for
an event listing would be anything within a 90 mile radius of San Francisco.
All postings are reviewed thoroughly before they are sent to list subscribers. Please send any questions to Jim Lucas. Thank you.
